Love the program but since update it is crazy slow

I got the program because a friend noted that for insurance purposes it would be wise to keep track of my books (more than 100 books). Librarian makes it easy to see what books I have and keep track of new books I purchase. If there was ever a fire or flood I have a detailed account of the titles and the program actually totals things up. It’s easy to look up new books too. The only issue is that since the program updated its run VERY slow.
