Shhhh

Great program…meeting all my needs with no glitches…..highly recommend any collector pick this one up!

Great

Great app. Easy to work with. To be perfect, they should add a iPhone/iPad/iPod add to let us add new items on-the-go. Wish it will come soon ;)

Great App, Definate Flaws

The program idea is good, thats a fact, it has all the features I want. However once I get to 100 items it gets super slow and crashes every once and a while, and with me have over 700 books, not including all the movies and music I want to add, this will take a very long time. Needs another update.

Librarian Pro 3

After having spent a month at my computer entering items into Librarian Pro 3 the program simply stopped working. I have tried opening the app from the data base files, from the dock (iMac-OSX 10.11.8) from the applications folder. Nothing worked. This morning I re-installed the program from the App Store - that failed also. My computer is working fine in all other respects. I have also contacted twice contacted customer support for this product. Aside from whining comments about Apple’s stringent rules for listing an App and the fact that I should be patient since this is a one man operation, i apparently am supposed to dig through FAQ and waste more of my time. I am not particularly irritated by the loss of $30.oo but the wasted effort in cataloguing items which I shall have to do again has prompted this review. Oh, yes, I also contacted Apple Support, they said that Library Pro 3, was a third party item and that there was little (nothing) they could do. I reccommend not buying this product.

Frustrated

Afte using Librarian Pro for over a year, it has now just stopped working. It will not open on my IPAD or my MAC as it has in the past. I vae attempted to reboot my devices, open the files from the saved files, open directly from tha APP, reinstall the app on all devices and nothing works. This is ove a year of cataloguing that is now wasted..No warnings, no support and no good. FRUSTRATED I gave it one Star because it cannot be opened.

Love the program but recently stopped opening

Changed my review to 1 star since I cant use the program right now. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! I got the program because a friend noted that for insurance purposes it would be wise to keep track of my books (more than 100 books). Librarian makes it easy to see what books I have and keep track of new books I purchase. If there was ever a fire or flood I have a detailed account of the titles and the program actually totals things up. It’s easy to look up new books too.

Excellent!

One of the best app in the Store, simply brilliant!

Great App!

I have over 1000 books, cds, and movies and this app is great to organize all of them. You can even mark if someone has borrowed one to help keep track.

Don

A great idea but for me gone bad. Downloaded and saved each book and then the whole data file. Turned the computer off and lost two days work. Koingo Software told me if I wanted a refund it would have to come from Apple because that is where I purchased it. Yet on their website they advertise 15 day trial period. I had tried to download directly from their site but it wouldnt download neither would it download from CNET. So if you are thinking about this app or any other go to the website of the developer and if you can not do it there is probably a reason. As of now I have an app I do not want that is unstable but can not get a refund. Do you think it was planeed that way?????? hmmmmmmm Finally if you are still considering this app the manual is literally useless and incomplete. 21.99 is a lot of money to lose this way. But Librarian Pro promised just what a person needs to catalog over 2000 books. It just didnt deliver.

Super easy to load books!

I love this library keeper. I have a lot of text book for my occupational therapy and yoga business. This makes it super easy to organize and track if I loan a text out. I am going to work with setting up a music library as I do a therapeutic listenting program and will be loaning out those items too.

Great App

Great as a library, or even for keeping a stores inventory! Great app! Worth the price!

Good But a Couple of Annoying Ticks

Generally, I do like this application as a way to keep track of my media inventory. A few little quirks keep it from being perfect. For example, when assigning books to any collections that you create, after dragging a title from the Main Inventory list into the Category folder, you are not able to simply return back to the Main List to the exact place you left off. Rather, when you return to the Main Inventory list, you are thrust back to the top. This means if you have 1,000 books and are trying to slot books with M titles into categories, you constantly have to scroll from the As all the way to the Ms (or Ps or Ss or Ws) every time you move back and forth from Main Intentory List to Category folder. If the navigation functions could be improved to make the process more user friendly, Id give this a full five stars.

Easier than building my own database

I have many sewn, spinning and weaving books. This made it easier to catalog my collection, however I have to give only 4 stars since it appears that the help files on the website don’t appear to have been updated to include new features. I was looking to find a way to add genres to the drop down list, however this is not addressed at all. It would also be helpful to have subcategories.

Stopped Working

Was great while it lasted, but a last month it stopped working. I click on the app, it bounces for a moment, then disappears. I’ve reinstalled it, same problem. Contacted Koingo 3 weeks ago, still no response.

Mysteriously Stopped Working

The program mysteriously stopped working. Click on icon, program fails to start. Tried removing the app and reinstalling. Same deal. Removed data file, removed everything from Library folder, still doesn’t work. Contacted support weeks ago with no response.

Was excited, now not

After failing to reach support about my previous version of Librarian Pro not opening, I was excited to find that this had been updated. However, it crashes every single time I try to open it. Getting really frustrated. Lack of support, all my stuff that can’t be accessed. Feel it is time to move on to another app.

Few things broken in v3.0 - not worth the upgrade

Ive used this application for many years, starting with version 1. Believe it or not, each version gets worse and worse. Its a nice app, but basically once you get all your collections in (100+ movies, 800+ music albums and 20+ electronics for me) theres no going back, and no changing to any other system. They have NEVER had any built-in reports, which is totally inexcusable for a database program. With version 3,0, the Export functionality is broken. So, I used to export to CSV about once a year for a hardcopy backup, but as of to-day that isnt possible. You cannot PRINT anything from the program. All of my album release dates have always been entered as the YEAR only. After updating to version 3 they all now display as "Dec 31, YYYY". Awesome! And you cant change it - you cannot even type numbers in the date field, only point and click on a dumb pop-up calendar. Check out Home Inventory for a great database application - great for everything (except books, movies and movies) with nice built-in reports.

Adding Issue

The upgrade made it more difficult to add to the inventory. The inventory option just creates a new item but does not search the net for the information. I have had to use the Search Web for Item feature to create a new item to add.

Good concept, but needs practical approach

All in all, this is a good recordkeeping appliance for helping me manage my movies. It would be more user friendly if the date fields would allow for textual entry, even if it required a particular format. Scrolling through “previous decades” for a release date (which is only shown as the year on anything more than a year old, which is most everything) is overly tedious. Also, when I explore the Web and find the right photo for my movie, select that Web entry, and ONLY THEN figure out that the movie synopsis is in FRENCH, there is no avenue for me to backup a step and choose a different Web entry. So far, I have either deleted the synopsis, or added the movie only remove it later. Again, tedious. This is an excellent start, and worth the money in my opinion, but it could use some usability refinements. Keep at it guys: You’re on the right track.
